Exhibition of Tourism and Related Industries Opens in Mashhad

Twenty four provinces as well as 7 foreign companies are participating in the week-long exhibit.

Participating in the opening ceremony, the head of Khorasan Touring and Tourism Department stated that holding such exhibitions prepares the grounds for exchange of thoughts and ideas with other nations, helping to strengthen cultural ties between nations.

Rassoul Akbari added that the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys hundreds of tourist attractions, drawing foreign tourists to its beautiful natural sites.

Holding Iranian traditional music concerts as well as exhibition of handicrafts are also among the side section programs.

Khorasan province has over 1,800 historical and cultural works including the religious site of Imam Reza’s (AS) Holy Shrine in Mashhad.

Over 14m foreign tourists, especially from Arab countries, travel to Mashhad every year to visit the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
