Iran condemns anti-Iran statement of Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom

TEHRAN, Jul. 30 (MNA) – Bahram Ghasemi of Iranian foreign ministry denounced the anti-Iran claims made in the final statement of the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom in Washington.

Iranian foreign Ministry Spokesperson Bahram Ghasemi condemned the anti-Iran content of the recent statement issued at the end of the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom in Washington.

He described the statement as a blatant case of interference in domestic affairs of Iran and based on biased, unrealistic, and wrong information about Iran.

He said that US is not fit to put blame on other countries as US has been ‘the biggest infringer and violator of the most basic and natural rights of human beings.’

“There are few countries which mistakenly have self-proclaimed themselves as the representatives of the international community,” he lashed out at US self-titling itself as the advocate of democracy in the world. He was pointing to the opening line of the statement of concern on Iran which reads ‘As representatives of the international community.’

“The history of Iran is the stage which shows and demonstrates how different religions have enjoyed peaceful coexistence while all divine religions are entitled with their rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran and they have their own MPs in the Iranian parliament,” he underlined referring to the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran which recognizes all religious minorities in Iran and respects their rights.

The US-written statement of concern on Iran was only signed by Canada, Djibouti, Kosovo, UAE and US.
