The competition started in three categories of men’s, women’s and mixed gender in China’s Wuxi on July 27 and wraps up today.
On Friday, Iranian squad defeated Turkey in their first step. However, hours later, they were beaten by China’s first team (known as China 1) and failed to reach the final.
In the third place play-off on Saturday, Iranian Taekwondokas managed to win Kazakhstan 28-26 and grabbed the bronze medal.
The final matches of three categories will be held today where China 1 and Korea will face in men’s category and Russia meets China in mixed gender. Iran had no representatives in other two categories.
Iran had the won the title of 2017 World Taekwondo Team Championships, held in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
