‘Saad's Olive Tree’ goes to Kazakh filmfest.

TEHRAN, Jun. 24 (MNA) – Iranian short film ‘Saad’s Olive Tree’ by Ahmad Zayeri has been accepted into the competition section of International Film Festival ‘Yertis Cinema’ in Kazakhstan.

‘Saad’s Olive Tree’ tells the story of a Syrian child called ‘Saad’ who plays football and has big dreams, but he loses his sight in a mortar explosion. Saad then imprisons himself at home while his mother and the neighbors try to give him some hope.

Zayeri’s flick will compete with other titles from Australia, Canada, Brazil, China, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Serbia, South Korea, Switzerland, UK, and Venezuela.

The short film was awarded the best director and also the best international film Award by the Jury in the 14th edition of Kinofil Festival in Manchester, UK.

The International Film Festival ‘Yertis Cinema’ is scheduled for 10-14 July in Kazakhstan.
