Iran to make US regret if it exits nuclear deal: Velayati

TEHRAN, May. 06 (MNA) – Ali Akbar Velayati, senior aide to Iran’s Leader on international affairs, said on Sunday that Iran is ready to deliver retaliatory blow to US if Americans decide to pull out from the nuclear deal.

“If the Americans pull out from the JCPOA, the Islamic Republic of Iran will assuredly retaliate in consistence with what they want to impose to make them regret their decision,” said Ali Akbar Velayati, the Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran’s Expediency Council on Sunday in Tehran.

The Iranian senior official who is a senior aide to Iran’s Leader on international affairs made the remarks on the sidelines of visiting the 31st edition of Tehran International Book Fair. The event opened in Tehran’s Grand Musalla of Imam Khomeini on May 2 and will come to an end on May 12.

“Iran’s options in regards with the nuclear issue are so diverse and the Americans can try it,” reiterated the Iranian former foreign minister.

 “If the Americans decide to pull out from the JCPOA or start a new game to deprive Iran of its deserved rights stipulated in the agreement, Iran will retaliate in accordance with what they do,” he added.
