Iran, Thailand mull over expanding trade ties

TEHRAN, Nov. 16 (MNA) –Iranian Foreign Ministry official Farazandeh met with Thailand’s DITP Director-General Nuntawan Sakuntanaga on Thursday in Bangkok.

Mahmoud Farazandeh, the Director General of Eastern Asia and Oceania at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with Thai Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Nuntawan Sakuntanaga who also serves as the Director-General of Department of International Trade Promotion  of Thailand on Thursday in Bangkok.

The Iranian diplomat is visiting the Eastern Asian country for attending the third meeting of Thailand and Iran political consultations committee.

The two officials discussed the ways to remove the barriers obstructing the expansion of ties between Iran and Thailand especially in areas of banking.

Pointing to the third meeting of Thailand and Iran political consultations committee, Mr. Farazandeh voiced hope to see the next round of the committee meeting in Tehran.

Also the Thai official in this meeting voiced content with significant growth in the volume of trade between the two countries in the current year.
