“With utmost sorrow and grief we received the news of an earthquake which struck Iranian northwestern areas and Kermanshah Province,” opens the messge of condolences issued by President Bashar Assad of Syria.
The Syrian head of state sent the message to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani after a deadly quake jolted Iranian northwestern provinces late on Sunday claiming the lives of more than 300 people and leaving huge damages to the buildings, properties, and cars of the citizens of the area.
“I, on behalf of Syrian nation and myself, extend my condolences to your highness, the friendly nation of Iran, and the bereaved families,” reads Assad’s message to President Rouhani.
“I pray God for the salvage of the victims, the cure of the wounded, and patience for the survived members of the families,” continues the president of the Arab country.
“We announce our solidarity with and support of the friendly Iranian nation and firmly believe in the capabilities of the Iranian nation to go through these miseries,” reads the message of President Assad to President Rouhani.
Late on Sunday, a magnitude 7.3 earthquake jolted Iranian western provinces, killing over 300 and injuring around 3000. Rescuers are still searching for dozens trapped under rubble.
