Ceasefire, humanitarian aid key to Yemeni crisis

TEHRAN, Oct. 30 (MNA) – FM Spokesman Ghasemi has emphasized that the Yemeni issue could be solved only through a halt in war and deployment of humanitarian aids.

Bahram Ghasemi, Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the Islamic Republic of Iran had condemned the aggression against Yemen from its outset and has always called for a stoppage in the ongoing war since military solutions are doomed to fail in Yemen

The official, while referring to a meeting of political and military officials of the coalition against Yemen in Riyadh, added “the Saudi foreign minister’s claim on Iran’s prevention of peace in Yemen is ridiculous and unfounded.”

He went on to note that the Islamic Republic of Iran had condemned the aggression against Yemenis since its outbreak and called for cessation of war. “We also reject military solution in Yemen and will spare no effort to put an end to the despicable war.”

Iran’s FM spokesman underlined that repeating false allegation at the Riyadh Summit would never reduce burden of human and international responsibility on those who have committed heinous crimes like murder, destruction of schools and hospitals, blockade and starvation of innocent Muslims.

Ghasemi underscored that resolving Yemeni problems was subject to stopping the war and sending humanitarian aid as well as a comprehensive dialogue among all Yemeni group.

At the end of his remarks, the official urged the participants at Riyadh summit not to make mistakes and apologize to the Yemeni people in a bid to end the war and start a comprehensive dialogue.
