Three Iranian shorts to vie at Leeds intl. filmfest.

TEHRAN, Oct. 25 (MNA) – Three Iranian short films ‘Retouch’ by Kave Mazaheri, ‘Animal’ by Bahman and Bahram Ark and ‘Lunch Time’ by Alireza Ghasemi will compete in the 31st Leeds International Film Festival in the UK.

Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ is the story of a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes while she cannot do anything but to witness this tragic scene.

‘Lunch Time’, directed by Alireza Ghasemi, narrates the story of a 16-year-old girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital - due to her young age - won't let her into the morgue.

'Animal' by Ark brothers tells the story of a man who wants to pass the border, disguises himself as a ram.

All three films have competed and won awards at several international festivals.

The 31st edition of Leeds International Film Festival will be held in Yorkshire, from November 2-16.
