‘Retouch’ set for 17 intl. screenings in Nov.

TEHRAN, Nov. 04 (MNA) – Iranian short ‘Retouch’ directed by Kaveh Mazaheri will enjoy 17 international screenings including 11 premieres across the world in November 2017.

Co-produced by Mazaheri and the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ is the story of a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes while she cannot do anything but to witness this tragic scene.

Mazhari’s short film has enjoyed an outstanding success this year by having been accepted into many international film festivals and won a number of awards including the Silk Road Award at China’s Jinzhen International Short Film Festival and Best Short Film award at Michael Moore's Traverse City Film Festival in US.

‘Retouch’ also won Best Short Film award at Tribeca Film Festival in New York and a snatched a chance to compete at the 2018 Academy Awards.

This November, the short film has been accepted into the competition section of as many as 17 international festivals, including:  Denver Film Festival (US), Asiana Short Film Festival (South Korea), Ojai Film Festival (US), Tirana Film Festival (Albania), Bratislava Film Festival (Slovakia), Miami Film Festival (US), Stockholm Film Festival (Sweden), Alemeria Film Festival (Spain), Stuff MX Film Festival (Mexico), Cologne Short Film Festival (Germany), EKADESHMA Film Festival (Nepal), Bosphorus Film Festival (Turkey), Leeds Film Festival (UK), Sleepwalkers Short Film Festival (Estonia), Lubin Film Festival (Poland), Tous Courts (France), and Thess Short Film Festival (Greece).
