Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with Abdulaziz Kamilov, his counterpart from Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan’s foreign minister said “considering the importance of the interactions between the two countries, the ministers of petroleum and gas and business and the special representative of Uzbekistan’s president in Afghan affairs will accompany me.”
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on increasing partnerships in the areas of petroleum and gas, tourism and embassy facilitations as well as boosting engineering, agricultural, automotive manufacture cooperation. They also discussed bilateral efforts to fight terrorism and extremism, holding joint economic commissions and launching a direct flight line.
The two foreign ministers also touched upon regional developments in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.
Following the meeting, Zarif and Kamilov signed the document for cooperation between the two ministries.
