South-West Trade Rail Corridor established by consent of five parties

TEHRAN, Sep. 09 (MNA) – The joint session of the railway CEO’s of Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Poland aiming establish of South – West Trade Rail Corridor was held in Odessa, Ukraine.

According to the officials of the Department of International Affairs of RAI (Iranian Railways) the five parties achieved common consent on creation of the mentioned corridor and its general guidelines in this session. 

The sides also agreed to establish the headquarter of this corridor in Baku.

The secretariat of South – West Trade Rail Corridor also will be established in Tehran based on the agreement achieved between all five parties.

All the tariffs and customs from Mumbai to Poland are defined and agreed between the sides, according to RAI.

It is supposed to transport at least 2 million tons of freight from Mumbai to Warsaw based on the agreement for the first year of the corridor work.
