Iran voices sympathy to flood-hit people of India, Nepal, Pakistan

TEHRAN, Sep. 02 (MNA) – Iran has extended sympathy and condolences to India, Nepal and Pakistan over the deadly flooding that resulted in the death of at least 1,200 people across the south Asian region.  

In his Friday message, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi expressed regret and sympathy at the catastrophic flooding in parts of South Asia, particularly in India, Nepal, and Pakistan, which left hundreds of people dead, wounded, and missing and caused serious damages to buildings and the countries’ infrastructures.

Across the South Asian region more than 1,200 people are feared to have died and 40 million estimated to have been affected by flooding in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. The heavy monsoon rains reached Pakistan on Thursday, resulting in the death of at least 14 people.
