Iran condoles deaths in Sierra Leone landslides

TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) – Iranian FM Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi has forwarded a message of condolences to government and nation of Sierra Leone over mudslide and heavy flooding that have killed over 300 people.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi expressed sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the natural disaster.

More than 300 people are dead after heavy rains and flash flooding led to landslides in the west African nation of Sierra Leone on Monday. An estimated 2,000 people have also been made homeless. Death toll is likely to rise as many people had been sleeping when the landslide hit.
