Iran for peaceful nuclear energy, against nukes

TEHRAN, Aug. 05 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said Iran defends peaceful nuclear energy and slams nuclear arms as dangerous for security of every country and the entire world.

In a meeting with the president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea Kim Yong-nam in Tehran on Friday, Larijani said the chaos in the world is not in the interest of any country and it is harming everyone; global peace and security are the most important achievements of governments for their efforts.

“North Korea has shown praiseworthy resistance against US bullying,” Larijani said, expressing hope that peace and security will be established in the world as soon as possible.

Kim Yong-nam, for his part, expressed with his second visit to the Islamic Republic, saying Tehran and Pyongyang have a common enemy.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has stated that no authorization is required for the building and firing of missiles, and we support this strong position,” he noted, adding that his country advocates the establishment of peace in the world.

He said North Korea will not abandon its national interests and urged the US to stop its hostile policies to North Korea.

“Time and date will pass and change, but our common enemy will not change at all, and the United States continues to its bullying policies,” he underlined.

He underlined that countries make their own destiny by relying on their power, and no state should surrender to excessive powers, because it has been proven that the United States has invaded countries that are weak in terms of military power.

He also called for the expansion of relations with Iran to serve the two countries’ interests.

North Korea sees its missile and nuclear capabilities as a deterrent against a potential US aggression.
