Iran, Iraq sign MoU on defense coop.

TEHRAN, Jul. 23 (MNA) – A memorandum of understanding on defense-military cooperation has been signed between Iran and Iraq on Sunday in Tehran.

The MoU was signed by Iranian Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehghan and his Iraqi counterpart Irfan al-Hayali who headed a delegation to Tehran aimed at expansion of defense and military cooperation.

The memorandum includes expansion of cooperation and exchange of experiences on combating terrorism and extremism, security of borders, as well as educational, logistic, technical and military support.

Following the signing of the MoU, the two ministers highlighted their respective country’s resolve for deepening defense cooperation, expressing hope that the agreement would be able to lead to more serious, more active and more comprehensive cooperation between the two sides.
