Syrian PM stresses stronger politico economic ties with Iran

TEHRAN, Jul. 20 (MNA) – The Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis, at a meeting with deputy Iranian foreign minister, emphasized the need for stronger political-economic ties between Tehran and Damascus.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari, who is leading an Iranian delegation to Damascus, met and talked with Prime Minister of Syria Imad Khamis on Wednesday.

The meeting investigated venues for strengthening relations between Tehran and Damascus in political and economic arenas.

Khamis, also expressed appreciation of the people and government of Syria for supports from the Islamic Republic of Iran which aimed of boost stability of Syrians in the fight against terrorism and economic siege.

He also noted that strong ties between the two countries would firmly thwart conspiracies seeking to weaken the Resistance Front against Israel and its colonialist objectives.

The Syrian PM also stressed collaboration between private and state sectors of the two countries for firm founding economic ties in investment and production fields and inking new cooperation agreements.

Jaberi Ansari, for his part, voiced Iran’s willingness to boost joint cooperation between Tehran and Damascus.
