Two Iranian animations to hit screen at Supertoon Festival

TEHRAN, Jul. 17 (MNA) – Two Iranian animated pieces, ‘Ascribed Achievements’ and 'Inflated Head' are scheduled to be screened at Supertoon International Animation Festival in Croatia.

The two animations will hit the screen at the cinematic event organized since July 16, 2017 in Šibenik, Croatia.

The 4-minute animated short Ascribed Achievements is directed and produced by Samaneh Shojaie and narrates the story of an old boy, who is dissatisfied with his appearance and hereditary and decides to end his life. But his failed suicide creates a new situation in his life.

Ascribed Achievements has been screened in numerous festivals, including Athens AnimFest, Flatpack Film Festival and Fest Anca, and had previously been nominated for the Award for Best Animated Film Direction at Tehran International Short Film Festival.

The Iranian animation Inflated Head co-directed by Amirpouya Afzalipour and Rouhollah Saadatmand is a 6-minute animation film that follows the story of a character clearing out his head every night in a balloon and sending it to the sky.

Croatia’s Supertoon International Animation Festival aims to establish the city of Sibenik as a center of animation movies. This year’s edition of the Supertoon International Animation Festival is held from July 16 to July 21, 2017.
