Opportunity available for sustainable ties with Europe

TEHRAN, Jun. 27 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said late on Monday that the opportunity for lasting relations with Europe, especially deep economic relations, has emerged, and if we lose opportunities, enemies will make them a threat to us.

Addressing a large gathering of Iranian expatriates in Berlin, Zarif said that the people could put up resistance against the hostile and destructive enemy and eventually defeated Saddam and his supporters.

He also referred to the Iranian nation’s role in bringing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to bear result and brought six world powers to the negotiating table.

Pointing to the historic turnout on May 19 elections, Zarif said people proved they will never allow a gap to be created between them and the system. He underlined that Iran’s negotiating delegation was translation of public will.

“We as the strongest country in the region believe that Iran’s security and progress will be ensured only in a safe and developed region,” he said, noting that those attempting to acquire security at the cost of jeopardizing others’ security will gain nothing but insecurity and abjectness.

“We have achieved single-digit ranking in scientific courses. We should promote indigenous technology using international advanced technology,” he said.
