“Quds Day is a big and important day and since the early days of the victory of the Islamic Revolution this idea of Imam Khomeini stood against the Westerners who wanted to normalize the problem of Israel,” reads the statement issued by Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament. The top lawmaker issued the statement on the occasion of the yearly event of Quds Day which is commemorated across the world by Muslims on the last Friday of Ramadan.
He maintained that big countries, especially the Westerners wanted to erase the problem from the mind of the Muslims to form a kind of negligence in the collective conscience of Muslims. Larijani holds that while the efforts to restore the rights of Palestinians got into deterioration and theories of compromise were brought up, the Westerners were covering up the crimes of Israelis.
“Imam Khomeini disclosed this cover-up and creating a clear sight among Muslims tried to not only prevent from ignoring the crimes of the Zionist regime but also step forward and clarify the issue,” asserts Mr. Larijani in his message attributing the resurrection of resistance among Palestinians and the fall of compromise theories to Imam Khomeini’s movement.
