Muslim states' alliance with Israel ‘disaster’

TEHRAN, Jun. 20 (MNA) – Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said alliance of certain Islamic countries with Israeli regime is a ‘disaster’ and ‘disgrace’, stressing that Islamic Ummah must be sensitive about the fate of Palestinians.

Ali Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with ambassadors of Muslim countries ahead of the International Quds Day in Tehran on Monday.

Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadan initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 to express solidarity for the Palestinians and oppose Israel's occupation.

Larijani thanked the present ambassadors at the meeting for their solidarity over the June 7 terrorist attacks on Tehran which killed 17 people and injured 50 others, adding “the recent terrorist attacks on Tehran indicate the rage and desperation of Americans in the wake of their numerous defeats in the region.”

Larijani also warned that leaders of certain Muslim countries will soon see the consequences of their destabilizing measures in the Middle East.

“We made a lot of efforts to make Saudis realize that their measures are harmful to the Islamic Ummah, but they make harsh remarks every day and are in constant conflict with other Muslim countries, such as Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, and more recently Qatar,” said Larijani.

The Iranian parliament speaker went on to add, “Saudi Arabia’s measures will ultimately benefit Israel. They want to keep the terrorists in the game, and some of them even assist Al-Nusra Front. Muslims must be careful not to get dragged into a bigger divisive plot in the region.”
