Norway's education Min. stresses academic coop. with Iran

TEHRAN, Jun. 01 (MNA) – Norway’s Minister of Education and Research, Torbjørn Røe Isaksen, in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador on Thu. stressed Oslo’s readiness to expand scientific and academic cooperation with Tehran.

During the meeting, Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Hassan Habibillah Zadeh noted the already good economic cooperation between the two countries, adding that Iran is ready to develop educational and research cooperation with Norway as a scientific supplement to economic relations.

He highlighted the good scientific record of Iranian students in Norway, and called for teacher/student transfer programs, as well as having courses on Persian language, Iranian studies and Islamic Studies at universities in Norway.

Isaksen, for his part, expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation between the two countries, and stressed his Ministry’s readiness to facilitate scientific and academic cooperation with Iran.

He maintained that cooperation with scientific institutions and research centers in Norway will provide an appropriate ground for advancing educational objectives and technology exchange between the two countries.

Isaksen further welcomed the idea of teacher/student transfer programs in areas of interest of the two countries’ universities.
