“Under circumstances where the international scene is gripped with disorder now more than ever, and the regional situation is suffering from chaos and insecurity, the generous and dignified presence of the great Iranian nation at ballot stations indicate a praiseworthy wisdom that will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in preserving Iran’s sustainable security, as well as lending a powerful support to the next administration for solving economic problems,” Larijani said in a statement on Sunday.
He further voiced his firm determination for cooperating with the new administration on settling economic issues and bringing prosperity to the country.
President Hassan Rouhani was re-elected for the second term in office following his landslide election victory through presidential polls held on Friday. He obtained 57.13 percent of the ballots by garnering over 23 million votes.
