Slovak Minister of Culture Marek Maďarič held a meeting with Governor of Isfahan Rasul Zargarpour in this historical city on Sunday, where the two sides underscored further efforts for expanding cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Maďarič noted that he was introduced to the high potential and capacity of Isfahan for joint cooptation during his short visit there, expressing hope for holding a cultural week in his country solely dedicated to Isfahan. Slovakia will also organize an Iranian Cultural Week in Bratislava in the near future.
The Slovak minister then pointed to an MoU signed with his Iranian counterpart on Saturday which included provisions such as holding a cultural week, active participation in art and book fairs, cinematic cooperation and cultural diplomacy.
Governor of Isfahan, for his part, stressed that closer cultural cooperation between Isfahan and Slovakia will lead to development of social, economic and commercial ties between the two countries.
According to Iranian Minister of Culture Salehi Amiri, Slovakia was the first country to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with Iran immediately after the implementation of the Iran’s nuclear deal, and the visit of Slovakian minister of culture to Iran represents the operational phase of agreements and joint plans.
