Iran, Norway to expand coop. on fisheries, veterinary

TEHRAN, Apr. 04 (MNA) – Head of Iran Veterinary Organization (IVO) Mehdi Khalaj and Norway State Secretary for the Minister of Fisheries Roy Angelvik met in Oslo on Monday.

The two sides underlined the need for the expansion of ties between Iran and Norway in the fields of fisheries, aquatic animal health and veterinary.

During the meeting held in the presence of Iranian Ambassador to Norway Mohammad Hossein Habibollahzadeh, Khalaj expressed as necessary the cooperation in the field of fishery products and signing veterinary agreement to meet the ever-increasing needs of interaction in the field.

Roy Angelvik, for his part, pointing to the development of relations between the two countries especially in fisheries and aquaculture, welcomed the talks with Iran in the field of health and aquatic animal health as well as cooperation on the production and export of seafood.

He expressed the readiness of his country to participate in research projects of fishery and veterinary training.

Iran and Norway are scheduled to sign an MoU on aquatic animal health and veterinary cooperation.
