Produced in Lyons by Litecox Company in August 2016, ‘Beyond Words’ went on stage with a French and Iranian cast and crew at the 35th Fajr International Theater Festival in January.
‘Beyond Words’ is a movement-driven play with no dialogue. Its dramaturgy is based on a combination of drama technique, movement, video and shadows, as well as the combination of different sounds of nature.
The play was written by the Iranian artist Jafar Mahyari and directed by the French director Daisy Fel. The cast includes Beatrice Garnier Ikken and Daisy Fel (France) and Saeed Abak (Iran).
‘Beyond Words’ is scheduled to be staged in the French city of Saint-Étienne on 19-25 March. It will also be performed in other French cities such as Paris and Lyons by the end of 2017.
Last May, Mahyari staged the Iran-Germany co-production ‘The Border’ in Tehran. He has also organized international theater workshops in collaboration with the German Newpaltz School of Fine and Performing Arts and French Le Kiosque Theater Company, in Tehran and Isfahan in November 2015.
