TEHRAN, Feb. 17 (MNA) – Esteghlal and Persepolis left the pitch of their first post-derby fixtures with garnering three points and keeping a 10-point difference at the top of the table.

After the 84th derby of Tehran in the 21st round, the two giants of the city lined up against the two giants of Isfahan. The 22nd week got into second day on Thursday with three fixtures.

The blue giants of Tehran, who are experiencing a magnificent return, defeated Zowbahan of Isfahan 2-0, in an away match to keep their track of success in the last weeks. With the three points of the event, Esteghlal are still the third but with a cemented position.

The ten point gap between the blue giants at the third position and the red giants at the top of the table was preserved as Persepolis won 2-1 over Sepahn in Tehran at Azadi Stadium.

Fould of Khuzestan did not manage to defeat their visitors from Tabriz and got into a 2-2 stalemate with Gostaresh Fould of Tabriz.

The remaining 4 fixtures of the week are slated to be held on Friday as the red giants of Tabriz can be more hopeful in their race for the title with victory over a much troubled rival of the bottom of the table.
