DAVOS, Jan. 18 (MNA) – Consultative meeting on Syria was held in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday, attended by Mohammad Javad Zarif, EU Chief Federica Mogherini and United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura.

The meeting was held behind closed doors without the presence of reporters and media staff at Hilton Garden Inn Davos.

According to an informed source, Zarif, Mogherini and de Mistura explained their positions and views on Syrian crisis at the meeting.

The source noted that Turki bin Faisal Al Saud, chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, and Amr Muhammad Moussa, former Egyptian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, also expressed their viewpoints on Syria.

Last week, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said that the bloc was planning to host a conference on the issue of the future of Syria in Brussels in spring. Javad Zarif told Sputnik today that he hoped to take part in the conference.
