'Valderrama' wins Best Film Award in Prague

TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (MNA) – 'Valderrama' directed by Abbass Amini won the Best Film Award at the sixth edition of the Festival of Iranian Film in Prague.

The main part of the festival had 10 films in competition that were judged by an international jury including Iranian director Rakhshan Bani E'temad, international director and critic Ronald Bergan and Czech producer Jan Macola. 

Valderrama is about an Iranian boy in the southwestern city of Abadan whose conspicuous curly blond hair resembles the famous Colombian former football player Carlos Valderrama, so he is called by the same name.

Premiered by Abbas Amini, Valderrama was first screened at Berlin Film Festival. It was also nomited for 'best first film of a director' award at the event in Berlin.
