Non-oil export mounts to $31bn in 9 months

TEHRAN, Dec. 26 (MNA) – IRICA has announced that Iran deployed non-oil commodities worth 31 billion dollars in the first nine months of the current year (began March 20).

According to the report released by Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the country’s non-oil exports figure in the nine-month span reached 31.593 billion dollars indicating a 9.05 per cent growth as compared with the figure for the same period last year which stood at 28.970 billion dollars.

Customs formalities for 91.262 million tons of exported goods and 24.867 million tons of imported items were carried out in the meantime.

The import volume for non-oil products also experienced a 4.38 increase by climbing to 31.538 billion dollars. The imports figure indicates a positive commercial balance for the country in the past nine months.

The main export commodity was gas condensate worth 5.124 billion dollars which making up for 16.22 per cent of overall non-oil export. LNG landed second with 1.952 billion dollars with a 6.18 share in the total non-oil export.

Major imported goods comprised soybean, auto parts, motor vehicles and rice.

China marked the largest buyer of Iranian products by purchasing goods worth of 5.697 billion dollars in the past nine months.

UAE, Iraq, Turkey and Korea followed China in terms of Iranian imports while China, UAE, South Korea and Turkey are also major importers to Iran.
