Russian envoy murder not to stop fight against terrorism

TEHRAN, Dec. 22 (MNA) – Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Parliament Deputy General for International Affairs, met with Russian envoy to Tehran Levan Jagarian and the two exchanged views on the latest matters of bilateral concern.

“The assassination of the Russian ambassador to Ankara proved that some players and Zionist-backed media manipulate public emotions to save terrorists,” said Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Parliament Director General for International Affairs, on Wednesday, in his meeting with Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian, “the same way the intelligence services of some states play with the fire of terrorism and mock the security of the region and the whole world.”

Prior to making any comments, the Iranian diplomat voiced his deep sorrow over murder of Andrey Karlov in Ankara. He offered sympathies on the behalf of Iranian Parliament to the people and legislators of Russia over the ‘inhuman deed’ and condemning the act called for the punishment of the commissioners, agents, and accomplices involved.

“The wrong approach of the Americans led to the spread of terrorism in the region,” commented the former deputy FM touching upon the regional developments, “not only war on terror and the rhetoric of political solution should not be limited to Syria, but also fair political resolutions should be devised for Yemen, Libya, Bahrain and other crises.”

Hailing the development of parliamentarian cooperation and coordination on bilateral, regional, and international issues between Iran and Russia, Amir-Abdollahian asserted that the perseverance of the trend would provide and secure the interests of the both countries. He maintained that the parliaments of the two countries could play an important role in contributing to the stability and security of the region.

“While all the attentions are directed to Syria, terrorism has overwhelmingly grown in southern Yemen and this is specifically one of the sinister consequences of military assault on Yemen,” held the Iranian diplomat warning that a political solution of the Yemeni crisis should not be forgotten.

The Russian envoy to Tehran, in this meeting, for his part, appreciated the sympathies and condolences offered by the Iranian nation and officials after the assassination of Russia's envoy and reassured that no such deeds could stop Russia from observing its duty and commitment in contributing to the peace and security of the world. He underlined that Russia will more determined on its path.

“The growth in bilateral cooperation and interactions in various fields is satisfactory and guarantees the provision of interests of Iran and Russia,” articulated Mr. Jagarian.

Touching upon the bilateral cooperation of Iran and Russia in dealing with regional crises, he described the joint efforts valuable especially in terms of Syria satisfactory. He insisted that the cooperation for restoring security and stability in the region will continue till the accomplishment of the shared goal. He also reaffirmed that Moscow opposes any reneging in the path to implement the JCPOA.
