No EU Tehran office yet approved

TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has assured the Parliament Iran’s ambassador to Syria will soon be appointed.

Mr. Zarif told MP Javad Karimi Ghoddousi, also a member of Parliament NSFPC on Tuesday session that no EU office in Tehran would be established; “since we have an office in the EU, they have filed a request for a corresponding representation in Tehran; however, no right has been granted for the EU to establish such an office,” he responded.

Zarif also rejected Ghoddousi’s remarks that two French and British diplomats had been arrested while filming some sensitive regions in a western province, and that the Foreign Ministry had provided shield of support for them; “both diplomats were visiting the area quite legally and their travel had been coordinated with intelligence forces; thus, no violations had been committed in that case,” said the Foreign Minister.
