Junior taekwondo squad to depart for Canada

TEHRAN, Nov. 09 (MNA) – Iran’s junior taekwondo practitioners will leave Tehran for Burnaby to compete at the 2016 WTF World Taekwondo Junior Championships.

The 11th edition of WTF World Taekwondo Junior Championships will be held in Burnaby of Canada from November 16 to 20th, 2016 with attendance of future taekwondo champions.

The national Iranian squad, comprising both boys’ and girls’ teams, are scheduled to leave Tehran for Vancouver on Friday November 11.

The male outfit of Iran comprises Amir Valipour (-45kg), Hamidreza Hadian (-48kg), Ebrahim Safari (-51kg), Ali Baseri (-55kg), Mohammadreza Jamshidi (-59kg), Amir Mohammad Bakhshi (-63kg), Mohammad Hossein Yazdani (68kg), Mohammad Mortezaei (-73kg), Amirhossein Voghouei (-78kg) as well as Erfan Nazemi (+78kg).

Iranian boys at the tournament will be headed by Vahid Abdollahi as the head coach as well as Omid Gholamzadeh as coach.

Meanwhile, Mobina Nejad (-44kg), Kowsar Hosseini (-44kg), Setareh Chaboki (-46kg), Fatemeh Jafari (-49kg), Mobina Shakeri (-52kg), Mobina Babalu (-55kg), Zahra Shojaei (-59kg), Parisa Javadi (-63kg), Zahra Sheidaei (-68kg) and Zahra Pouresmaeil (+68kg) will represent Iran in the female division of the international tournament.

Fatemeh Safarpour will lead the girls’ squad of Iran accompanied by Niloufar Safarian and Masoumeh Mohammadian as coaches.

The exciting international junior competition will take place at Bill Copeland Sports Centre over 5 days, with 10 divisions, and both male and females competing.
