Iran ends second in World Wushu Championship

TEHRAN, Nov. 06 (MNA) – Iran’s men’s and women’s Wushu squad have come only second to China in World Wushu Championship held in Xi’an, China.

Iran’s count of medals came short of that of China, the dominant Wushu power of the world, which became champion with 10 golds, the Philippines was third to Iran with 2 golds, a single silver and a single bronze medals.

Competitions wrapped on Friday (November 4) when Iran’s 7 strong Wushu athletes surprised the fans by succeeding to the semifinals, where they snatched 4 golds and 3 silvers. Shahrbanou Mansourian, Mohsen Mohammad Seifi, Sediqeh Daryaei, and Hamidreza Qolipour secured golds for the camp, and Maryam Hashemi, Erfan Ahangarian, and Amir Fazli were winners of three silvers.
