Iranian chess players secure 12 wins at Round 3

TEHRAN, Oct. 22 (MNA) – Cadet Iranian chess athletes have earned 12 victories and lost 5 matches at the 2016 FIDE World Cadets Championship underway in Georgia.

World Cadets U8, U10, U12 Championships 2016 Open U12 in being competed in the Georgian city of Batumi from 18 - 31 October 2016 and the Iranian squad participating at the event comprises 17 chess players in Girls’ and Open sections.

In Round 3 of the event, Iranians came out victorious in 12 games while they conceded defeats in five others.

Accordingly, Bardia Daneshvar, Reza Mahdavi, Motahare Asadi, Fatemeh Khodadadi, Fatemeh Ebrahimi, Soshiant Nejatpour, Alaa Nouri, Artemis Mahjoob, Eilia Zomorrodian, Artin Ashraf, Mani Jahedi and Setareh Sebtrasoul got the better of their rivals in the third round while Ali Nouri, Parto Kouchakzadeh, Hasti Khosravi and Zahra Hamdollahi suffered defeats.

So far into the FIDE World Cadets Championship, Iran’s Alaa Nouri has bagged three points to lead the Open U8 division while Artin Ashraf is in the third place with the same number of points.

Fatemeh Khodadadi enjoys the second position in Girls U10 event while Motahare Asadi had only managed to rank sixth in Girls U12 section.
