Para b-ballers fail to defeat Britain

RIO DE JANEIRO, Sep. 10 (MNA) – Iran’s Paralympian basketball team conceded a defeat against Britain in their second match at in the 2016 Paralympic Games.

The Iranian squad, who had subdued Germany in their opening encounter, failed to overcome British rivals at Carioca Arena 1 stadium of Rio de Janeiro on Thursday and lost 62-82.

Iran’s para basketball outfit is scheduled to take on America today as part of Men's - Group B Preliminary.

Headed by Abbas Aghakoucheki, Iran’s start list comprises Saman Balaghi, Mohammad Sehi, Hassan Abdi, Mohsen Tolouei, Mohammad Mohammad Nezhad and Esmaeil Hosseinpour as forwards, Vahid Gholamazad, Morteza Ebrahimi, Omid Hadiazhar and Iman Bagzadehfard in the center as well as Hakim Mansouri and Morteza Abedi in the guard position.

Rio 2016 Paralympics has attracted more than 4000 athletes from 160 world countries who will compete for medals in 23 sports fields for 11 days. The Mina delegation of Iranian athletes at the event consists of 111 sportspeople who vie at 12 sportive categories.
