KERMAN, Sep. 06 (MNA) – Two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed between Iranian Province of Kerman and Germany’s federal state of Bavaria.

Heading a trade and industrial machinery delegation, the Economic Affairs, Media, Energy and Technology Minister of Germany’s Bavaria State Ilse Aigner met and talked with Kerman Governor General Alireza Razm Hosseini on Monday in Kerman province where two MoUs were sealed between the sides.

Razm Hosseini appreciated Kerman Chamber of Commerce for holding the session and said it would give the Iranian and German parties to mutually exploit their capacities.

He pointed to Kerman’s economic plans and opportunities asserting “we can cooperate with Bavaria in numerous fields like mining, agriculture, tourism, health, energy, transport as well as knowledge-based firms.”

“Investment projects worth 29 billion dollars have been defined in the Iranian province which can be undertaken by foreign companies,” added the official.

Razm Hosseini voiced optimism that the newly-inked MoUs will soon become operational inviting the Bavarian delegation to make visits to various places in Kerman.

Kerman governor referred to existence of Mahan Air Airline company inside Kerman province adding “the Iranian province is divided into eight economic zones in which private sector companies are active while foreign firms can also partake in the region.”

Later at the meeting, the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Ilse Aigner referred to several commonalities between Kerman and Bavaria in economic, agriculture and tourism sectors recalling “the governor of Kerman is on the right track and we invite him to make a visit to Bavaria State.”

She further asked for a list of capable companies in Kerman in order to consider mutual cooperation with them.

The visiting official also urged reinvigoration of bilateral relations and emphasized the need to remove barriers as well as to provide private sector firms with incentives.

Also during the MoU signing ceremony, President of Kerman Chamber of Commerce Seyed Mahdi Tabibzadeh said the agreement requires the Iranian side to present an information bank on business atmosphere and investment projects to Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

He stressed that the German side will also encourage capable companies of Bavaria to make investments in Kerman province.

“The two sides also agreed to hold exhibitions, seminars, meetings as well as other training events in line with expansion of economic relations in water management, energy, environmental technology.”

He underscored that a great deal of natural resources in Kerman have remained dormant asserting “at the present time, we are looking for a developmental model to blend natural resources with modern technology similar to that Bavaria State has accomplished.”

Tabibzadeh underlined that cooperation between the two sides will be scientific and comprehensive covering a variety of arenas.

Located in the southeast of Germany and one of the most beautiful parts of the world, Bavaria is the largest state of the European country, making up almost a fifth of the total land area of Germany.
