Foreign delegations visit ICC

TEHRAN, Aug. 14 (MNA) – Delegations from Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey as well as the Spanish ambassador to Tehran met and talked with head of Iran's Central Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC).

In their meetings with ICC President Bahman Abdollahi, the visiting delegations and officials exchanged views on venues for expansion of bilateral trade relations.

Spanish ambassador to Tehran Eduardo López Busquets pointed to his country’s capable trade companies saying “Spain is willing to conduct joint venture with Iran in trade and economic arenas through its giant firms active in business consulting, chemical and construction fields.”

Bahman Abdollahi, Head of Iran's Central Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC), for his part, welcomed presence of foreign investors and firms in Iran’s economy adding “Iranian cooperative companies are ready to negotiate and cooperate with foreign enterprises.”

In the meantime, a number of trade delegations from Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Turkey also held meetings with ICC head discussing the necessity of developing economic and trade relations between these countries and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Union of the Aluminium Cooperatives Hebatollah Fazeli noted that Iran’s aluminium production resides over 400 thousand tons thanks to 20 advanced factories, meanwhile asserting “LC barriers and financial transaction issues are impeding exports of Iranian products to foreign countries.”

He underscored that no satisfactory resolution has been achieved in this regard following the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA); “nevertheless, European delegations have traveled to Iran holding talks for joint action.”

“Iran also pursues plans to increase its aluminum production capacity to one million tons in the next five years,” maintained the official concluding “negotiations have been held with Italians over a four-billion-euro investment in the Iranian aluminum industry.”

ICC is a national organization overlooking all unions and cooperative companies regardless of their site or type of activity. They could be active in national or international economic cooperative and related organizations within the framework of Iran policies.
