Hamid Baidinejad wrote in his note in a social media account on Sunday that Russian and Iranian scientists had been working in the depth of 100 meters in the desert of Qom to turn it to a prominent research and development center for nuclear physics. The note also added that the project was speculated to be one of Iran’s most advanced nuclear centers.
The approval came from Kremlin as well which, on Friday, just ahead of trilateral meeting of Iran, Russia, and Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku, emphasized on Iran-Russia cooperation in producing stable isotopes in Fordow Nuclear Center.
According to nuclear scientists, stable isotopes would be produced using modern and efficient centrifuges which Iran had indigenized. Russian nuclear scientists will apply the technology to generate stable isotopes in addition to enrichment.
Fordow enjoys unique position in terms of prospects of providing the country with a reliable research center which is secure from military invasion for the time being.
Apart from Russia, negotiations with European countries had also been advanced to help with the project in Fordow in the near future.
