Tehran to host ISFC Asian Youth championship

TEHRAN, Aug. 06 (MNA) – Head of Mountaineering and Sport Climbing Federation of Iran has announced that the 2016 ISFC Asian Youth Championship will convene in Tehran.

Reza Zarei made the announcement adding that Japan, South Korea, China, Malaysia and Singapore had so far voiced readiness to take part in the Asian event to be held in the Iranian capital from September 26-30.

“Approximately 15 teams will compete in the upcoming tournament,” noted the official; “Iran has made arrangements to hold the competitions at a high level.”

Zarei further touched upon deployment of nine Iranian athletes to the 24th edition of Asian Championship Duyun underway in China adding that “the event has begun in Duyun of China and we hope that the Iranian squad will gain promising results.”

“National Iranian mountain climbing team is also preparing for climbing Georgian heights in near future,” he continued.
