Saudi goals to end in deadlock: Boroujerdi

TEHRAN, Aug. 03 (MNA) – Iran’s head of National Security Commission said the goals that Saudi Arabia is pursuing in region will soon end in deadlock due to might and of the Resistance Front.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Head of Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, made the remark on Tuesday in Beirut following his meeting with Lebanese Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, where the two sides conferred on expansion of bilareal ties and exchanged views on the recent developments in the region.

Boroujerdi went on to add, “regrettably, at such a critical time in the region, the Saudi kingdom has focused all its efforts on normalizing its relations with the Zionist regime, but we are fully certain that such plots will never achieve their nefarious results.”

“All can attest to the fact that the life curve of Takfiri terrorist groups across the region including in Iraq and Syria is now in decline,” he added.

The Iranian senior parliamentary official expressed content with the start of a fresh round of national dialogues among all active and influential political groups in Lebanon which was held at the initiative of Nabih Berri, adding “the Islamic Republic of Iran will undoubtedly make every effort for the restoration of peace, security and unity to Lebanon.”

Iran is gravely serious in combating Takfiri and extremist terrorism and is in close coordination with Iraq and Syria in fighting this scourge, he said.
