JCPOA ‘sole topic of negotiation’ with US

TEHRAN, Aug. 01 (MNA) – FM spokesperson has rejected remarks by CIA head that Iran and the US had been negotiating on wide variety of subjects.

Bahram Ghasemi told reporters on Monday that JCPOA had constituted the sole topic of negotiation between Iran and the US.

John Brennan of CIA had reportedly speculated that negotiations between Iran and the US would go beyond the mere nuclear program. Ghasemi roundly rejected the claim or speculation, believing that the remarks had sought to weaken national unity among the Iranians and that Foreign Ministry believed that such misguided efforts would bring nothing special to the US in polarizing the Iranian society; “such remarks will not find eager ears and eyes, since our people are too smart to be deceived by remarks which target specific ends and which are well-orchestrated,” he told the press.
