Iran, Austria to escalate scientific coop.

TEHRAN, Jul. 30 (MNA) – Deputy science minister has reported on the visit to Iran of the head of Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research (OeAD).

Iranian Deputy Minister of Science for International Affairs Hossein Salar Amoli said General Director of Austria’s OeAD Stefan Zotti travelled to the Islamic Republic of Iran late last week aiming to boost scientific and international cooperation between the two sides.

“During his trip, Mr. Zotti held a number of meetings over stock exchange, joint projects, creation of a council comprising deans of some Iranian and Austrian universities in order to pursue the goal of scientific and academic cooperation,” Salar Amoli added.

Iran’s deputy science minister further underlined that “the Austrian official also made a visit to Pardis Technology Park (PTP) in addition to attending a session at Kharazmi University in Tehran."

Hossein Salar Amoli maintained that about 141 university projects were defined last year between Iran and other countries with the majority of agreements being inked with European, Russian and Chinese academic institutions.
