Hermann Ingolfsson handed in his credentials to President Rouhani on Tuesday in a meeting where Rouhani believed that private sectors of both countries could play a crucial role in improving trade with the remote nation of the Atlantic. Mr. Ingolfsson emphasized upon the importance of Iran for his fellow country and the EU; “Iceland would work with Iran in renewable energies; Iceland’s policy within past years has been of improvement of ties with a great and important country as Iran in a strategic geography of the world,” he added.
Mr. Audrius Bruzga, new Lithuanian ambassador to Tehran also presented Rouhani with his credentials as countries accredited mission. Mr. Rouhani said both countries should realize their potentials in bilateral relations in science and renewable energies; “Iran seeks and welcomes broader ties with Lithuania in all fields of interest; promotion of Persian language, tourism, and cultural relations along with attempts to fight terrorism could provide grounds on where to boost ties,” Rouhani believed.
Bruzga, for his part, congratulated Iran’s government and nation in securing the nuclear deal and successful implementation; “now time is propitious for both countries to restore relations to high level of the relations in the past; I hope that Lithuanian foreign minister’s visit to Tehran would advance relations in science and academics, solar energy and other types of new energy technologies,” he told the meeting. “Both countries’ capabilities in tourism would also contribute to deeper ties in the future,” Bruzga added.
