Referring to the international conference on urban economics on May 19 Danesh Jafari said the conference is in line with general policies of Resistance Economy in order to integrate knowledge and international experience in the fields of urban economics and management.
Saying that ignoring scientific approach in the field of city management, particularly in some metropolises, has resulted in some shortcomings, he added “urban growth has been accelerated in the world and our country; this has increased the importance of city management as well as economic-based approaches to urban development issues.”
Naming the topics of the event, Danesh Jafari said, “economy of smart city, economy of urban tourism, economy of urban infrastructures, economic culture of city and citizenship education, urban dilemmas, the environment, and air pollution, management of human capital development and urban economy, banking systems, social banking, and urban economy, modeling resistance economy in cities and urban passive defense, pricing urban services, financing, and urban revenues, management of urban service, organizations of urban management, and private sector are the topics of the conference.”
Emphasizing that it has been attempted to take advantage of practical aspects of articles, member of policy-making of the conference said, more than 250 articles have been submitted to secretariat of the conference in order to be assessed.
Referring to the name of new Iranian year as “Resistance Economy, Implementation and Action” by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, he further said, all aspects, components, and strategies to implement Resistance Economy have been explained by the Leader and it can be implemented accurately and clearly now.
Highlighting that one of the important arenas that Resistance Economy should be implemented are cities since more than 70 percent of Iran’s population live in them, the member of the Expediency Council said, in this regard, the event has dedicated one of its most important topics to the issue of Resistance Economy in urban field; “we hope to develop a framework for economic implementation and action in cities based on the model of Resistance Economy by using the achievements of this scientific event.”
