Iranian President Rouhani’s visit to Islamabad, in reciprocation for Pakistani Prime Minister’s visit to Tehran, is in the agenda, but the exact date and details of it have not been set so far, said Iranian ambassador to Islamabad, Mehdi Honardoust, in his meeting with senior journalists of Pakistan on Thursday.
Voicing his dissatisfaction with the current level of trade volume between Iran and Pakistan, the Iranian diplomat referred to the relatively higher volume of trade between Iran and Afghanistan and urged the media people of Pakistan to promote the economic and trade relations of Tehran and Islamabad.
There are many joint projects of Iran and Pakistan, some of them small and some of them big, which among them the natural gas pipe line is in priority as Pakistan is facing an energy crisis, asserted the Iranian ambassador touching upon the post-JCPOA opportunities ahead of the two neighboring countries.
Praising the role of media in improving bilateral trade ties, Honardoust called for Pakistani media to play an active role in the time no sanction is posed upon the two countries.
