Team A of Iran’s beach volleyball, consisting of Bahman Salemi and Rahman Raoufi, managed to triumph over Chinese rivals 2-nil in the opening match at FIVB Kish Island Open.
Iranian beach volleyball players breezed past China in two consecutive sets (21-14, 21-13).
Playing in Group five of the tournament, Team A of Iran will meet Turkey in their next encounter.
It has been for the first time Iran is hosting FIVB 2016 Beach Volleyball World Tour from 14 to 19 February in Kish Island.
These competitions are scheduled in main and preliminary tables where the preliminary table consists of twenty-four teams among which four teams are from Iran.
Eight top teams from the preliminary list will compete in four days for the best to be identified.
The countries participating in the competitions consist of Austria (4 teams), Canada (2 teams), China (3 teams), Germany (2 teams), Iran (8 teams), Italy (2 teams), Norway (6 teams), Poland (4 teams ), Qatar (2 teams), Russia ( 2 teams), Turkey ( 3 teams) and Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, France, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, and Venezuela each one team.
