The announcement was made by an informed source in Iran’s embassy in Rome, who added the visit will come after Iran's parliamentary elections that will take place on February 26.
The exact date for Boldrini’s visit has not yet been decided, the source added.
Italy's Lower House President has always highlighted expansion of parliamentary ties between Tehran and Rome. In a meeting last March with Minister of Culture Ali Jannati in Rome, Boldrini deemed parliamentary diplomacy an important factor in bringing the two countries’ nations and governments closer together.
Boldrini had previously expressed her interest in visiting Iran and invited Ali Larijani for a visit to Rome.
