Annonay Intl. Filmfest. to host 'Melbourne' in Feb.

TEHRAN, Jan. 27 (MNA) – Nima Javidi’s debut feature movie Melbourne will be screened at the competition section of Annonay International Film Festival on February 6, 12 and 13.

Experiencing its 45th international presence, Melbourne will represent Iran at the French festival in Lyon city of France, on February 5-15.

The prominent film festival of 'Annonay' has so far hosted Iranian great film makers, including Asghar Farhadi, Hamid Rahmanian and Parviz Shahbazi.

Melbourne which began its international presences at Venice Film Festival in 2014, has so far bagged 12 international awards in Cairo, Stockholm, Argentina, Spain, France, Japan, USA, Iran, etc.

The film recounts the story of a young couple on their way to Melbourne to continue their studies; however, just a few hours before their departure flight, they are unintentionally involved in a tragic event.

The Annonay International Film Festival (Festival international du premier film d'Annonay) is an annual film festival held in Annonay, France. It was launched in 1984 and has been held every year in February. The film voted by a jury as the best in the competition section receives the Grand Jury Prize.
