'UN must moderate Syrian talks'

TEHRAN, Dec. 25 (MNA) – Senior Iranian diplomat Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had a telephone conversation with UN special envoy for Syria on Friday.

It is necessary to compile a list of terrorist groups without dividing them into good and bad ones, stressed Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in his phone conversation with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan Domingo de Mistura on Friday.

Amir-Abdollahian reiterated the need of a realistic approach to be taken by the international community to solve the political problem and terrorism in Syria simultaneously.

The Syrian crisis is solely solvable with respect to sovereignty, independence, national unity and land totality of Syria and to respect the Syrian nation and their political will, Syrian-Syrian dialogues, as Islamic Republic of Iran holds, should be only held by the moderation of the UN, highlighted the Iranian senior diplomat.

Greeting Iranian diplomat for the constructive and active role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in ending the crisis in Syria, de Mistura, for his part, expressed hope that the UN initiation of bringing all playing countries around the table of negotiations would lead to political solution.
